Drainage & Erosion Control

Foothill lots move a lot of water in a short winter, and clay soil doesn't absorb it fast enough to keep up. We trace where the water actually goes during a storm and build the swales, French drains, and rock channels that get it off the property without carving new gullies.

What’s included

  • Swales and rock channels cut to match real runoff paths
  • French drains for wet spots and low corners that stay soggy
  • Erosion-control matting and rock on slopes that have started to slide
  • Downspout and drive runoff redirected away from foundations

How we run the job

  1. 01

    Watch it wet

Where possible we look at the property during or right after rain to see where water actually runs.

  2. 02

    Map the fix

Swales, drains, or rock channels laid out to intercept water before it cuts a new path.

  3. 03

    Build

Trenches cut, pipe and rock set, channels shaped and compacted at the edges.

  4. 04

    Test the flow

We run water through the system before calling the job finished.

Drainage & Erosion Control questions

Usually concentrated runoff hitting bare clay — we spread the flow and armor the path with rock or matting.
