The challenge

Two feet of fall across the lot toward the house, compacted builder fill, and beds that never drained.

A level, draining yard with a patio that has held its joints through three winters.

What we did

  1. 01Regraded the entire yard to fall away from the structure
  2. 02Rebuilt the bed soil and set borders before any surface work
  3. 03Built a 480 sq ft paver patio on a compacted class II base
  4. 04Laid fescue sod and planted a low-water perimeter bed
